Data Control

You have complete control over your data in Sidecar. This page explains how to delete your data and what happens when you do.

What Data We Store

When you use Sidecar, we store:

Your account information (email, display name)
Connected Threads account details
Your Threads posts and engagement metrics
AI analysis results and generated content
Scheduled posts and their metadata
Usage analytics and AI usage tracking
Authentication tokens and session data

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Self-Service Deletion (Recommended)

Log into your Sidecar account
Go to Settings → Account Management
Click "Delete Account and All Data"
Confirm the deletion (this cannot be undone)

This will immediately delete all your data from our systems.

Option 2: Contact Support

If you cannot access your account, you can request data deletion by contacting support with:

Your registered email address
Request for complete data deletion
Any additional account identifiers you remember

We'll verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

All personal account information
Connected social media account data
All stored posts and engagement metrics
AI analysis results and generated content
Scheduled posts and scheduling data
Usage history and preferences
Authentication tokens and access credentials

What Happens After Deletion

Immediate effects:

Your account is permanently deactivated
All data is queued for deletion from our databases
You'll receive a confirmation email

Within 30 days:

All data is permanently deleted from active systems
Backup systems are purged of your data
Third-party integrations are disconnected

Important Notes

Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
You'll need to create a new account to use Sidecar again
Scheduled posts will be cancelled and not published
Any exported data you've downloaded will not be affected

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives:

Export your data: Download your content and analytics before deletion
Disconnect accounts: Remove Threads connections without deleting your account
Clear specific data: Delete only posts, analytics, or generated content
Pause usage: Simply stop using the service without deletion
